Being a broke cheapskate I've been trying to find a set of bars that are more comfortable without spending a lot of money. Since there seems to be lots of cheapskates out there most of the bars I found in my budget were on back order.
I also couldn't find a lot of information about what bars will fit the stock wiring and cables on an FXDC. There is a lot more info on the Bob's (fat and street) in regards to handlebar swaps.
I installed a set of Frisco Bars I made (wasn't happy with them, I didn't put any pull back in them so they cramp my wrists pretty bad). My dimensions were pretty much the same as the Biltwell Frisco's and they fit with no issues.
8" risers and drags also fit with no issues. I'm fairly certain you could go with 10" T bars or risers with drags with no issues either.
A set of Sportster "flat track" bars will bolt right up. I think that drag bar on 8 inch risers looks sweet let me know if you want to sell that set up.Obviously T bars in that same height would work. You could also try a drag bar with more pull back or go to taller risers with what you got.Harley Street Slammers would probably work.Maybe a set of pull back risers?
I posted this in case other custom owners were looking at bar options without changing their cables and wires because I couldn't find much information out there on what would fit.
I'm happy with the current set up (pictured). On this particular bike I like the more traditional look of the risers and 1" drag bars over the new school T bars. I don't like a lot of pull back but I need a little bit so the drag bar I have is perfect. I think it's a 15 degree pullback but I'm not sure. They came off my 99 XL883C. I normally have to swap out bars a few times before I find the right set up. I had a set of FXD/Sportster bars on it before I put the drag bars and 8" risers on. They were too wide and far forward.
