I've been thinking about some axle covers for a while, but the ones I saw were these great big ol' honking smooth round covers that just looked too fakey.
Anyway I was looking around at the Harley shop a coupla days ago and they had two different kinds that were a lot smaller. The skull ones and the fluted design. I liked the fluted ones a little better but they for some reason were about fourty two bucks per axle and the skull ones were only twenty six, plus they got fifteen per cent off an all chrome accessories for the rest of the month,so I got both sets of the skull ones for less than fifty bucks out the door.
Once I got them on I'm pretty pleased with the look.
LMAO .... I had that exact set in my hands and decided not to get them .... thought I would wait 'til after Christmas. I was suprised MB H-D had both the front and rear. They look good .... will be getting a set soon .... probably a few more Skulls stuff as well.
Might as well get them before the end of the month while they got fifteen percent off. Better yet send the Ol' lady down to buy you some chrome for Christmas. She'll think she's doing something, gotta use that reverse psychology on them.
I put the smooth (non-skull) axle nut covers on my '06 Low Rider a couple months ago. The only ones I see for the rear are the fluted kind and the skull kind. I'm searching and waiting for a plain chrome set for the rear axle nuts like I have on the front. The kind I need only fit up to '05, and for the 06 & 07 they only have the fluted and skull models. You can see what I'm talking about by looking at my picture below.
Guess I'm stuck waiting unless somebody knows something that I don't.
