So I'm down in SoCal for the holidays. We had to bring my enclosed trailer because my father in law passed and we had to bring Christmas south. I decided to throw the bike in the trailer with all the Christmas presents so my dad and I can check off a bucket list item and ride together on our own bikes. Usually we're borrowing a bike from someone when we visit each other. We went for a short 150 miles ride today just to get some T-shirts. We're planning a longer ride next week, but it was still great. Before we left I did a little photo shoot.
My dads bike is a 90 FXR super glide with 86k miles on it. It's all original and has never failed him. Actually the salesman at the dealership we went to today was trying to buy my dads bike instead of selling us one.
Surfor.....we've had this conversation before....lol!! He doesn't care, but I did update his front sigs with some newer ones because they didn't sell low profile replacement lens for his size housing anymore. So I put on some little ones that are on our bikes now last NOV. I have little rear lights for him and I'll be wiring them in sometime in the next week or two. He's a "rider" i guess. As long as the bike runs good and sounds good he's happy. He only washes the thing once a month, maybe every few months. I learned on his bike when I was 16 and I polished it every weekend till I moved out. He does planning polishing all the covers again sometime soon, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Hey how bout some pictures of the pinstripping on your ol mans ride, is that stock stripping? Enjoy the time with your dad...I'd love to do a ride with mine but he;s passed away... Really bitchen rides there....happy holidays....
