Need some help please. I bought this chrome electrical panel cover (info in link below) from eBay and it fits up to a 2011. I have a 2012 FXDC and they changed how the cover mounts. (HD doesn't make a cover for the 2012 yet. Didn't realize this until I got it) It fits perfect as a cover but the rubber bushings that you push it into are not on the 2012. Anyone with a 2012 tried this or anyone have any ideas. Thinking about cutting the tabs down at the top of the electrical panel and then drilling a small hole through the chrome cover and mounting it that way or using double sided tape or Velcro to mount it. Thanks in advance for any help.
maybe you should just sell that one and wait till it comes out. last thing you want is it falling off. its not like the battery side where its screwed on. that thing just pushes on.
Compare the stock cover that you're taking off with the Chrome one you're wanting to mount, Examine the stock eletrical cage as well.
If your comfortable with trying a mod, then your good to go.
I would think that Velcro would work fine if there is space enough to mount. If not you'll have to return to e-bay to recoup money's.

Love modding .....thinking of filing the tabs done then using Velcro.....should be fine....the tabs on top are the only thing keeping it from going on all the way....of course as soon as I do it the next day HD will have the part.

mod away if its just that simple. velcro should work. did you get a good deal on it or was it brand new price. if you got it used i would try and mod it. i to like that.

That's what I was thinking...Got it used on eBay....only paid $30 for it....less than half....gives me something to mess with.....
