If it doesnt make you go faster or handle better its a waste of money. A thunderheader is the best for performance but it will wake your neighbours up in the morning.

there is not a huge selection for the 2012 wide glide/fat bob models with a 103 motor yet. hopefully by spring there will be.

Many of the Harley Techs I talked to over the past month or so like the SuperTrapp Mega's for sound and performance. It's a 2 into 1 setup and is very tunable as you do more engine work.

Default Powerflow III 2-into-1

New kid in town.
bad *** exhaust system.
I installed last night and been having a blast . I can feel the difference.
Sounds great with just a 2" baffell.

Check ot the thread here "Ultimate Street Bob muffler mod" . Involves installing Cycle Shack baffles in stock Dyna cans. Better sounds, most likely no better performance. If you change your mufflers, you DO NOT need a tuner or upgrade to ECM, do some research American Iron and NIGHTRIDER have done many mods to late model Delphi equipped bikes and no need to upgrade or retune, even with some air intake systems. Also, don't be intimidated by dealers threatening the loss of warranty, they have to prove your mod caused the failure. See Magnuson Moss Act.

I like my Vance and Hines 2-2 Big Radius for looks. (See pic below)

For performance though I would go with a 2-1 like Thunderheader, Supertrapp, or V&H 2-1 Big Radius.

what rohan said!

I went for looks, as I knew what pipes I wanted well before I got the bike. V&H Big Radius 2-2 are what I wanted, and installed.

Performance wise - they did little on their own. Sound wise - they lacked a real deep sound (but were/are LOUD) when first installed, but have definitely mellowed after 4k miles, and a SERT/Stage 1 AC. I still run the V&H installed baffles in mine, they are quite loud when you want them to be.

I tried "Hard Kore" baffles in them when I first put them on, it went from loud, to "70's VW Beetle" and I yanked them off after a few rides.

You can see the exhaust on my FXDC in the sig pic. They make them in black with chrome tips as well, if you throw in an extra hundo.

If it is sound you are after as, many have stated, listening to other bikes is your best bet for finding something you like, as long as it is not YouTube, etc. You need to be in the presence of the bike to know what they'll really sound like.

Good luck and enjoy your new scoot brother.
