Hope you people can understand what I am trying to describe. I have never noticed this before, but recently out riding I stopped to pay my water bill. I parked on a small incline. Left the bike in first gear and turned key off. Got back on bike and before turning key on to start I decided to back up a few feet to where parking lot was level. I pulled in on clutch, bike still in first gear, and noticed that bike was not rolling as freely as I thought it should. I put front break on and shifted to neutral and then bike rolled more freely. Clutch cable play is between a dime and nickle thickness at clutch lever. Bike does not try to creep while holding clutch in. I am hoping this is normal.
I've never had it happen after riding, only after the bike sat for a long time so the oil dripped out of the clutch over time. If the clutch is still wet it should roll in gear in my opinion. Have you done a full clutch adjust? Couldn't hurt next time you change your primary fluid and only takes 10min.
That's the basic nature of wet clutch motorcycles. Don't worry about it too much. If the clutch lever/cable is set correctly, all is ok. I've had over 40 wet plate clutches and they all do it to a degree, even when warm....dd50/tomp
as everyone else has said, happens to mine sometimes too. clutch drag, etc., I just say shes temperamental. Try this one : Roll your bike backwards and try to start it. Mine will sometimes kick back a starter gear when someone tries that. and then i yell at them.
