Hey everyone, I just got a Drag Specialties tapered round sissy bar and I picked up some HD side straps from a fellow forum member. The issue I'm having is that I can't seem to find the correct specs for the screws I need to attach the upright to the side straps.
I found a lot of similar models from other manufacturers and I even bought a few screws from my local in, but they don't fit.
Can anyone tell me what screws I need to get for the sissy bar?
That's a great idea. I feel pretty dumb for not thinking of that. I was going to wait for the indy shop to open back up on Tuesday to bring it in there. I think I'll swing by the HD dealership tomorrow. Thanks!
A quick google search didn't reveal which threads they are, but it seems common that it has chrome in the threads and should run a tap into it to clean up the threads. A guess would be either 1/4"-20 or 3/16"-coarse thread
Well, I'm always looking for a reason to buy more tools and I don't have a tap and die set yet... Looks like I'll be heading to the toy store in the next few days.
