In my area the bikes are a firm MSRP price however some factors cause price to vary. Winter season, end of year, location of dealer (yes dealers in area of high incomes/homes will mostly remain firm on MSRP price.) Of course, everything is speculative here. I heard someone say that best price can be had on upper end Harleys and I take it as the Softail/Touring models as the Dyna is considered lower end model just above sportsters.

If you find a bike you want, and are willing to pay the asking price, who cares what anyone else thinks. It's your money, make yourself happy. I recently paid $ 11,300 for an '06 Superglide (35th Anniversary), but it only had 4400 miles on it (1 owner who rode it lightly for 5 years). I went over it with a fine-tooth-comb and it was perfect. Just like it came off the showroom floor. It was exactly what I was looking for except for mid-controls. I added forwards and ISO boards and have loved riding it over the last 6 months. Don't "settle" because of price, you'll regret it later.
