I stopped by the dealer to check on things yesterday and again today...got to spend a little while with the tech while he was working on the bike. I've done plenty of the greasy work when I had more time and less money, and I could tell this guy knows what he's doing...and this definitely isn't his first time....like I said before, I trust the guy performing the work on the bike. Before I left today I got to hear it run...it sounds like a completely different animal! I put the Bassani Road Rage on my road glide which also had the 103....but it never sounded this mean! I can't wait to ride it...
The closest thing I have to a video camera is an iPhone...I'll see what I can do. Hopefully I pick it up tonight...they still have to dyno tune it and install the oil cooler.
So true...I told the tech to keep it as long as it takes to get it right. I'll still be back every day to check it out though!
I'll see what I can do about the bikini girls Jo. I'm sure if I can get them to the dealership, and the owner isn't lurking around, the tech will let them in the dyno booth for a video! My G/F probably wouldn't let me go pick up random hotties....maybe I'll go to a bike night next Wednesday and see if there are some booth girls that will play with my throttle for the video!!
So it has been a while since I've been on here...so here's the update. I got the bike back last Friday. I've done a couple of videos with iPhone, but haven't posted them anywhere. I assume youtube is the place to do so, but I've never done that sort of stuff before...other than these forums, which I feel are a valuable learning tool, I am anti-social networking. Give me a few days to get on that task for those who have asked.
Again...this is the new 2012 SE Stage IV kit with Bassani Road Rage, SE Heavy Breather Intake...dealer installed and dyno tuned. (Total Cost ~$4100 after tax)
First let me say that I'm really happy with the results! The power is still strong at low RPMs but really comes alive at about 3200 and never quits pulling. I feel comfortable cruising at ~2500 RPM as there is still enough power from there on up to quickly and easily get out of the way if needed...and the 259e cam seems to be really content at that RPM.
The oil cooler would not fit with the aftermarket pipe...the o2 sensor is blocking the adapter plate. Living in S. Florida, I really hope to find a way to make an oil cooler work...
As for bikini girls....well....no beers are coming my way. Although the weather has been nice, when I was at the beach this weekend I could not find any bikini clad girls which you would want to see...other than my girlfriend...but she declined to star in my motorcycle video.
The Bassani sounds awesome...it goes from moderate loud at reasonable cruising to "Holy Hell WTF!!" at WOT. I am sure my neighbors are not happy about my choices or that I leave for work at 0600!!!
