Ok guys I am about to pull the trigger on a 2012 fat bob big blue pearl w/abs what do you guys think is a fare price? Hear are the #s the bike is 15,734.00 + abs 1,195.00 + 995.00 F/P + tax 1,546.00 + tags 200.00 = 19,670.00 out the door these are right out of the book. So what is a fare # I should haggle them down too? I plane on going to the three dealers in my area to get prices just wanted to know if any one has a good # I should try to get them down too any help would be appreciated thanks again Emax.
Take MSRP, subtract $2000, then add your tax, del, title and fees. Any added options at dealer, usually about 25% off retail parts and labor. Take your time, add up all of the above items and make and offer for that amount followed by"you will buy it today" , now the critical part: shut your mouth say nothing and wait for salesman or manager to respond. If they dont aggree, walk. You will likely get a phone call.

Here is what I think. I think dealers will negotiate or rather CAN negotiate. What they do is sell at MSRP/book value per HD's ideas, and give ya $500 gift cards or 20% off on parts. ****...they get dealer pricing when ordering parts so they probably bought those V&H pipes for 20% off with their dealers license...all the while telling you you got a awesome deal. Same with $500 off in the dealership...they bought alot of stuff for around 50% of retail. If not how the hell you think dealers can stay in business with their employees lounging around.
Oh yeah they sell at MSRP and give ya off onthe goodies...and they still come out pretty good.
If ya want to offer a fair deal go by WHAT YOU THINK IS A FAIR DEAL. Not by what they think is a fair deal. Both you (dealer and Joe Cool) are holding their cards...someone gives and the other does not.
In this time of the year...I would expect you should at least get 10% off on bikes on the floor. Remember they are not selling bikes much nowdays. I even think this tactic above works the same in spring although dealer may be willing to gamble when the buck walks away LOL...since its warmer and more folks are walking into dealer. More folks = potential customer.
Hey if you going to pay full price for all of this...just wait until april. Tell that to the dealer and say you will buy if price is right...if price is the same as it is going to be in spring then heck wait! I betcha they will want to work with you.
Ok guys I did it I pulled the trigger today I went to the three dealers in my area and this is what happened. The first guy I went to just gave the msrp price and had some sort of pick 3 thing going on but was freindly. the second guy was not so freindly but gave me the best price but I waited 15 to 20 min in and empty store before one of the four people standing around asked me if I needed any help. The third guy was very freindly and even know some of the guys I work with and helped me as soon as I walked in the door but was about a thousand more then the second guy so I showed him the numbers from the second guy and they matched it and gave me 15% off anything I were to buy in the store from now on. But no one has the bike in stock in the try state area so I had to order it and it will be in the middle to end of march. So over all I saved 10% on the out the door price witch is a little over two thousand not to bad over all.
Congrats bro....I'm gettin ready to get me a Fat Bob too. Can't wait. I'm going bright and early tomorrow to look at an 08 with 5100 miles on it. The guy wants $11K for it. I hope its not too good to be true. Wish me luck.
