Installing arlen ness fairing on 2003 fxdx
Hey guys i have a question about installing the arlen ness fairing on a 2003 fxdx. Im brand new to bikes, for the past 6 years i have been working on my two mustangs that were track cars that i just sold for a bike and wanted to try something new, i just bought a 2003 fxdx and found a slightly used arlen ness fairing for cheap. my question is if anyone else has done the install to a similar bike and what parts and changes need to be done to make this work, i plan of getting 10" rise tbars also. I know this post is a little dated. I am installing an Arlen Ness fairing on a 2002 FXDWG. So far I have purchased 4 mounts for the fairing that connect to the upper forks. I have also purchased a headlight mount that moves it forward a few inchases. I believe I will also need to purchase a headlight ring that will extend the headlight further into the fairing. My biggest problem is where to drill the holes. I would like them perfect but there is no template or anything like that which I can find anywhere. I also do not know anyone else in this area that has experience doing this or that has one installed on a bike. The whole reason I am doing this is exactly that, nobody else in this area has this fairing on wide glide. I personally think it looks great from pictures on the internet. Any idea how to correctly drill the holes and where?
