The foam they use is denser than the pillow or mattress foam and they say it has to get to 70 degrees to activate it.......but most of my longer riding is in warm weather......so we shall see.
Definitely want to see your re-foamed seat when you have it back on your bike.
Any chance you changed color from black to another color? How much are they charging to do this re-foam?
I was just looking Bar Enterprises site last night considering the same thing you are doing, but going with a medium brown leather cover instead of black.
Well I got the seat back and now it's going to go down into the 20's tonight. They were right when that thing is cold it's pretty hard. There is no difference at all in the look of the seat from stock. They did a nice job and put more staples in than the stock guy did. Now I have to wait until it warms up...[:@]
This thread could last until Spring.............[]
Cost was about $200 plus shipping and you cant tell that they even touched the seat but you can feel it. I brought it in the house before I put it on and you can feel how dense the foam is. But, sorry the real test won't be until Spring because it's 12 degrees out and the bike is in the garage. The next warm spring day will tell when the black seat sits in the sun for an hour and then I'll know. That is the one bad thing about doing Winter mods here in the frozen tundra. Gotta wait for warm weather. [:@]
Still waiting for the warm weather......this is ridiculous...[:'(]
Well I'm not really understanding the idea behind this I've seen the commericials for the pillows and matress' and by my way of thinking sinking lower into the seat would be a bad idea in warm weather because your gonna sweat your A$$ off.
