The mid pegs are great when you fly over railroad tracks. lol
Can't wait for some updated pics...
LOL! Yeah, that was what I was thinking. Ran home @ lunch & dug through the box of take off parts & found my mounts & bolts for the mids. Had to remove the snap ring holding on the mid brake pedal & take the it off. Gonna buy me some stock pegs to put on and mount the mid pegs back on this weekend.
I'm sure lots of pics will be taken this weekend, so I will post some this weekend or early next week of the bike in finished form. I have a smoke turn lens kit & clear LED tail light kit I took off my Sporty that will fit on the Dyna, so I'll likely put that stuff on this weekend also. Probably be too busy riding it this weekend to be on the computer, lol! Sopposed to be around 50 & sunny here all weekend...just in time!

Stop it!! You're getting me all wound up. Mine is still setting in storage at the dealer. Can't wait to get it home. Got some more mods to do to it when I do....
Don't make the same mistake a lot of us here have done. Buy the slip ons for the noise, no real performance, and then take them off 6 months later and put on a full exhaust. I just put on the vance and hines propipe 2-1 and love the sound, the performance and even the looks. With a stock stage 1 motor I picked up 15 horsepower. Here are a few pics of the new pipes....
Directharleypart.com has the full system for 479 and I paid like 340 for my slip ons. 140 more I coulda had the real thing
rooti,
I hear ya Man! I would rather just do a full stage 1 system right up front. The bike (2012 FXDC) is actually for my wife. So she's like ..."I (she) don't need to spend a bunch of money on it, so just slip ons". The funny thing is ...she is the one that wanted me to get the full system when I bought my Street Glide a couple years ago. I imagine after a few weeks of riding it stock she'll fold in to the full system (she loves loud pipes!). We pick up the bike in two days!

I'm picking mine up tomorrow....gonna be 50 & sunny finally so I'm going to get to ride it home! I imagine I'll likely spend the entire day on it.
Dealer called me yesterday & the bike it totally done, tuned & cleaned up...ready to go. I can hardly stand the anticipation of picking it up! This has been a long week waiting!
The CATS are in the inlet of the muffler. You will not see them until you remove the muffler. It's also stamped on the back of your muffler "USA CATALYST" but I have seen a CAT in a Screamin Eagle DYNA muffler without "USA Catalyst" being stamped on the muffler. So, if you are shopping around for a non-catalyst stock Dyna "Blunt Cut" muffler, the part# is 64753-09 and it only came on the 2009 Street Bob. Direct bolt on.
From experience on my bike (01 FXDL / TC88 w/Keihin carb and Andrews TW 21G's), I can tell you that there is very little difference (if any) in the sound between the catalyst vs the non-catalyst blunt cut muffler (both mufflers being new). With over 40K miles on the stock non-catalyst muffler, I can tell you that there is a marginal tone change and the volume is louder than stock but you will never, ever be able to say that it is loud. The rivets have never been removed. If I'm sitting at a stop light next to a Honda Civic with a stainless can, I can't hear my bike running. The same applies to someone with a loud thumping car stereo and a Garbage Truck definitely drowns it out.
I'm 5'10" @ 145lbs. My bike has Andrews TW21G's with a SE Hi Flo air filter installed in an otherwise stock TC88. Yes, it has a stock Keihin carb with a 46 slow jet (stock is 45) and 190 main @ 2.5 turns out on the mixture screw.
*** The CAMS also changed the exhaust tone (slightly louder) ***
Attached is a pic of the CAT in the muffler of a Super Glide, FXDL, DWG and a Street Bob.
