Default Split Vision Mirrors on a Switchback

Hey Everyone,

Picked up these this past weekend.

92190-06 Split Vision Mirrors.

Got them on with no problem but the angle just sux. Yes the website said they fit. (again) I can't get them to move to even close to see. Well these are going back. I think if I had different handlebars (I know "DUH") they would work but the standard switchback ones just don't work.

I want a bigger viewing area with the mirror. I have blindspot mirrors on my SUV that saved my life. I wanted them on the bike too. Thus the split Vision ones.

Any recommendations?

Thanks Everyone

Hahah. Best idea so far. Turn my head anyway. Already put the old ones back on. They are going back though. Thanks.

LOL, yep.

However it raises a question: are these types of mirrors something the full-face helmet guys regularly use? I've never really noticed.

I use either a half or 3/4 helmet so not an issue with me (I just turn my head like you said), but wondering if full-facers acquired new peripheral vision limitations when they went to that type of helmet and if it's an issue.

Always been a full face helmet rider. Maybe your right. I have a skull cap in case someone needs a ride. I'll have to try it on.

You know, everyone is different too. I've been around heavy equipment all my life so I acquired a bit of a sixth sense in regard to actually sensing and then seeing when something is coming up on my sides, probably before someone who isn't conditioned to it would. Who knows.

But that is the one of the reasons I don't wear a full-face besides I'm afraid i might get a little claustrophobic. Maybe all I need are the mirrors you bought?
LOL

I switch back between a full face and 1/2 helmet and never noticed any loss of peripheral vision with the full face.

Well it's obvious they offer a lot more protection so that's good to know. How about in the summer, don't they get hot? Or is that when you wear the 1/2?

If you have a well vented helmet it isn't that hot. I wear a full face and i also have a modular. I like my Vox helmet. Very comfortable. I also have a Masei modular. Great helmet. Has a built in visor.
