why would the 06 kit be limited to only those years and if so do the rest of the kits work on (for me the 2010) without any complications?
I appreciate the help but I do not quite understand the info that you posted WS6, I saw that you used an 05 kit, are you stating that those guidelines work for all back to 91?
Thanks for your help.
I don't know this for sure, it is just an educated guess based on my experience in manufacturing.

When you compare the two H-D sets (49080-03A 03-05 models vs 49080-06A (06-later models) both sets have different components.
2006 was the year that MoCo changed the V-twin engine, primary and gear case.
For 1993-2005 models there's no need to remove the OEM primary shifter lever. Retainer brackets are in this kit (see image below)

2006 and later models have a different bolt pattern at the crank case.
The kit for these year's models have a transmission shifter lever. According to the instruction sheets the OEM shifter lever has to be removed and the transmission shifter lever has to be replaced with the new one.
I do not know why this is; perhaps 2006 and on owners could chime in?

and also the retainer bracket for the primary shifter to be held to the rear cylinder. I am unsure if there are any dimensional differences
from the mid to forward locations for either the brake or shifter side. The shifter side is an easy fix if so. The brake side could be a bit
of an issue due to the slight double bend in it
