Just bought a decent bike lift on sale from Cycle Gear for $59 (couldn't believe it).
However, I'm not sure if I can lift my '06 lowrider directly - the engine seems to protrude a little below the frame, and there is a welded piece on one side of the frame.
Does anyone know if you need some kind of supports to lift the '06 lowrider?
This one has been tossed around the forum. If I remember correctly, to properly lift your bike on a fame type jack, you either have to make supports or buy then from HD for under $30. Of course then strapping it down. I hope this helps.

06 is right, the best coin you'll spend on a maintenance item, makes getting the bike up in the air a breeze. Just make sure that you have enough clearance under the bike before you try to slide the lift under the frame, on most lifts it's pretty tight, but easily solved by riding the bike up on a 2x6 to get the back wheel off the floor an inch or two. Once that's done, there should be enough clearance to get the lift and adapters in place.
oh well... how could I possibly fathom that I could just buy something for a moco product without having to buy another something to make the first something work [&:]. They have a good gig going don't they!!
So then you block up the hole left side and then just in front of the fin on the right and just jack it up??? i was concerned about the weight on that fine but i guess if you block the other areas to get it level then yer alright. that silly fin gaurd is a pain but i guess needed to protect the trans and i suppose its lower than the frame to get a better seat height. if this is whats needed than im just going to make a few blocks the same thickness as that fin. thanks guys
Got the red jack from Sears, had it up on the lift most of the winter, in the house, moved it around a few times, no straps, no problems. I made spacers out of wood for the rear left to offset the guard welded on the rear right and a piece on each side in the front. Got the short shocks on it so it sits lower. Block of wood under each tire and one under the jiffy stand lets the jack go right under, no problems. Easier than jacking a 400,000 lb. C-5 Galaxy and THAT is easy!!!!
