Bigbird......It doesn't take anything to make the 21 inch fit the Dyna front forks. I used the same axle and the same spacer(s) used with the cast wheel.
The 21 inch wheel came off a late model Sportster, 2000 and newer.......pg
Rudedog.....To check for radial runout I use a simple rod bent 90 degrees in place of the dial indicator. Or, like mudpuddle said, use a dial indicator. Just clamp in so it points vertical rather than horizontal used to check lateral runout......pg
Hey!!! Who has been messing with my Sportster? Ha-Ha, very good mudpuddle! How'ed you do that? I saw your post before I went back to the photo, otherwise I might not have seen the addition without the tipoff. Very sneaky of you...........pg

mudpuddle Date 12/20/2006 11:22:55 PM Dial indicators are mounted in a variety of ways.
Let me know, I could go out and take a pic of one of my mounts.
I shopped in the little red SportSter just to see if anyone would comment.
No one has.
Good one with shopping in the sporty. I think there's enough stuff in PG's shop to keep peoples eyes busy enough that they didn't notice.
Yeah, I'd like a close up of the other dial mount. Whenever is good enough for me.

I think I'd rather go the dial indicator route because I believe these are crutial measurements and I think they need to be monitored to get the best ride out of the bike. Thanks for the reply.
That's good Mudp. I was wondering how you did the change up. I had tried Photoshop awhile back but it was more than I could master. That program is so large that I don't think anyone can completely master it. It must be a life long learning experience.
The photos that I post are taken with Nikon SLR cameras. I use Capture NX to process the photos and reduce the file size for posting. All of my shots are taken in RAW (Nikon calls it an NEF file) and then processed with Capture. The photos are then just taken from a folder to post, so no scanning is required.
Capture NX cannot do the things Photoshop is capable of however. It just works well with Nikon gear.............pg
