bought slip ons, heavy breather and pcv(mapped), bike ran great, bike then ran bad, pulled off pcv and bike ran stock, rode all last yr and missed pcv,tax time came this year ,ordered crossbacks and deciced to put pcv back on original set to see if it still works until pipes came in, that brings us to today, here we go, hooked up pcv, bike wouldnt do anything, unhooked pcv, realized battery was dead---charged battery bike started, hooked up pcv and bike wouldnt start, unhook and start!!! few things, pcv sat on basement shelf for over a year, today it was flashing green (power) and red(status)QUESTIONS, price of a new pcv? will fuelmoto maybe be able to troubleshoot it? its been a long day fellas, any input would be helpful, thanks
Can't answer your questions about the problem with your pcv, but Jamie sells them pre-programmed for just under three bills. Unless you bought your present one from him I don't believe he'll work on your existing one (if that's even possible, they usually just throw the bad ones out and replace it). We had a conversation about him programming people's PCV's before, and he told me that he didn't want to be responsible for something that other people have programmed and he hadn't sold. I had to respect his point.
i got it from fuel moto, i talked with them a couple a days ago they are great and very curtious, they sent me a map for the rineharts, but like i said i hooked it up today to see if it still worked, wonder if it blanked out due to shelf life, that it was programmed by fuelmoto for rush slip ons and hd breather, which are still on the bike, im hoping not having to buya new one, but with the crossbacks i want the bike to run like the eagles from a superbowl ring
When did you buy it? If I remember correctly, the manufacturer's warranty is one year, but I think Jamie ads an additional year of warranty if you buy it from him. If that's the case, and it's less than two years old he'll replace it for you (I assume). And if you're just switching pipes that shouldn't be a factor in it not working. If it's in working order your bike would still be running, just not as well. Are you sure mice or something didn't get into it while it was sitting on the shelf?
Your 1st step is to call fuel moto and get some questions answered and go from there. In my experience they r a great company and will try to help u out if they can. Good luck and keep us posted on what u find out.
A lot of todays tuners reflash or save the program on your ECM so you don't have to have another electronic part hooked up to your bike that can be challenging to fit and can also fail as the years go buy. I bought a TTS knowing if I was going to spend the money, I was going to have it dialed in by a well known dyno tuner. Then it's there for life...unless you do more engine mods...
I was just clarifying that you weren't advocating a dealer's Stage 1 re-flash, because as far as I'm concerned, it's a complete waste of money if you intend to do any further engine upgrades in the future.
