ok this came up today as a pointless discussion, weather or not all dyna's are dyna glides or if only the fxdc is a dyna glide?

Anyone care to shed some light on this?

what can i say the closer we get to the end of winter the more ridiculous the arguments get.

 

the fxdc is a member of the dyna family, just like the street bob and fat bob. Ive always looked at it as a superglide custom

 

If I'm correct. FXD= dyna. c= custom. Same goes for WG.. Etc.

 

FXD/C, battery bands state "Superglide".. not sure about the others.

But I think the FXD- family, is the Dyna-glide family.

 

Seems to me... If its a "Dyna" and has a "Glide" in the name then its a Dyna-glide which is an unofficial name anyways... Therefore Bobs are Dyna's but not Dyna Glides...

 

IMO, Dyna-Glide is a made up term, there is a Dyna family as is the Touring, Softtail or Sportster family, some are have the word glide in their name and some don't - it would be like saying Softtail glide or touring glide.

 

It's just an old tag that started with the Hydra-Glide when Harley stepped away from the springer. Became a Duo-Glide with the addition of rear suspension and an Electra-Glide when electric start came along. Since then it was probably added to certain models for nostalgia.

 

Mine is not just a Dyna Glide. It's a Dyna SUPER Glide. lol
