Default Kuryakyn mini bullet installation

Well I settled on the kury mini bullets to use as my signal replacements, here is the list of stuff that I used:

1 set of amber stud mount mini bullets for the front
1 set red stud mount mini bullets for the rear
1 badlands illuminator III with load equalizer
1 badlands intensifier

You need the intensifier to use your front set as run and turn signals
the rears are taken care of by the illuminator III, the wiring is pretty straight forward, just follow the badlands instructions, however i opted to run the needed wires for the intensifier back to under the seat rather then mounting the box under my gas tank as suggested by badlands. Also i picked up some of that black net wire harness stuff that harley uses from cableorganizer.com. If you like to reuse the stock connectors i suggest buying a harley crimping tool from ebay, i got mine for about $40 and is a very good tool to have.

Now, the tricky part, Kury makes these with a 3/8x16 thread and harley signals are threaded 5/16x24 so if you want to use normal turn signal relocation kits and what not they will not fit. kury offers an adapter stud, but that also does not work with alot of applications, such as HD rear turn sig relo kits, as the threads are not just on studs threaded into a rod, they are part of the relocation bracket.

Now what does work is a 5/16x24 helicoil kit. Now before anyone looks up the specs and says it wont work, it does work, all the math says it wont, but it does. The included drill bit with remove 80% of the threads, and the included plug tap cuts just enough over the original 3/8x16 threading, that it does not just cross thread, just make sure you start the tap straight.

I will post some pics as soon as i finish wiring them. I had the rown terminals in my stash and have to pick up some of the right ones tomorrow.

Any how, just hope this helps someone who wants the mini bullets but read that they wont fit.

Default Load equalizer

I put the kury' mini bullets on rear of mine, I used the kury' load equalizer and it fit nice and snugg under seat just behind the alarm system on left side. Its easy to get to if needed and looks clean. All wires are tucked nice w/ no strain or hard kinks. Love the looks, but friends say they hate them on my bike cause if they are beside me, they cant see them blinking. Appearently my hand signals arent enough to inform them Im turning
