Timberland Pro Titan steel toe and waterproof...I got tired of buying riding boots that I couldn't walk in. Timberland is the only thing I ride in now. 8" for winter and 6" for summer.
Ended up getting Danner Striker II 6" boots.
Steel Toe (not really steel though), Gortex for the rainy days, zipper side for the quick release, oil/slip resistant for those gas stations and intersections, and black. I think these will work nicely. They're not insulated, so they should get any hotter than any leather boot.
I wear the Wolverine Durashocks Exert 6" steel toe lace up boot in black.
I have another pair of Wolverines that are also very good, but not as good as the Exert.
Most comfortable boots I have hands down.
I have 2 pairs of Red Wings, 2 pairs of HD boots, 1 pair of Timberlands, 1 pair of Danners & 1 pair of Carhartts & the Wolverine Exert smoke them all as far as comfort & looks.
One thing I will say is I normally wear an 11D, but in Wolverines I have to have and extra wide...they tend to run a little narrow in the toe.
Well, they're way more than a $100, but Danner is about the only boots I'll buy. And in the end, they'll outlast any other cheaper boot by a long shot. Having said that, check Leatherup.com. Hard to go wrong w/ those folks.
Ya i hear ya.. i got a pair for free, long story. But after having them for almost two years i know why they cost(handmade) and would pay the cash for them.
