2010 wide glide front fender mounting?
Hey guys, Ive got an easy one for you. When i bought my bike, the previous owner had removed the front fender. I just bought a fender from Russ Wernimont, and im wondering how the fender mounts to the fork legs? A special bracket or spacers? There are holes on the fender but when its centered there is an inch and five eigths gap on each side. Pictures of a mounted stock fender would be awesome. Thanks guys!
So by the looks of it, the mounting bracket is formed right into the fender. Now the question is do i make a bracket or cut some spacers out of tube stock. Nothings ever easy i tell ya!
Well that makes it easy!! Appreciate the info Reaper! At least I know now that my spacer idea will work. I may just make them, plan on riding this weekend and I'm not sure if those would make it to my door in time.

Russ Wernimont Designs makes a front fender specific to the Dyna Wide Glide front end for 2006 and beyond, as everything changed on the '06 model. Therefore, the fender mounting is different, so either a fender specific to this model (such as the RWD-50086) is required, or custom spacers and modification to an aftermarket fender. As the Dyna Wide glide fender mounts on the lower fork legs are positioned vertically - vs. horizontal like on most Softtail and custom applications, you need to ensure that the fender can accommodate the unique vertical mounting application, and that any spacers you get (along with the fender) will accommodate the 1" on center mounting holes in the lower forks. Most aftermarket spacers are for the typical 2 to 2.5" on center hole spacing for the more common fork lower leg mountings. NOTE: The RWD-50086 fender comes with the appropriate 2006 and above Dyna Wide Glide fender mounting spacers. J&P, Dennis Kirk, Wanaryd and slickcustoms.com all sell this part, but most do not carry it in stock so you may encounter a backorder situation. It runs $250-$280. This is a bolt-on kit, but you may be able to find a custom part that requires custom fitment (hole drilling) and custom spacers for a little cheaper.
