How does it compare to the lens that came with the light?

Didn't have one. But I'm looking at pictures and see the trim on a lot of them goes like the original trim did and the bucket and trim I have have tabs on each of them to tighten down of that helps

Use something like a strip of coated wire like and O ring and that will solve it. I had one that was that way and that did it. You can also just wrap the outer edge of the lens in electrical tape until its thick enough to be snug in the housing. Pretty much anything creative that won't dissolve in water or corrode easy will work.

When I put the trim ring on mine it was a little loose and noisy so I went down to the hardware store and got some rubber insulation that was in a thin strip form and wrapped around the light housing then put the trim ring back on, it doesn't show with the trim ring on and seals out moisture as well, might work for you also. Good Luck!
