Default 21" Sporty on a Dyna Front end

Is it possible?

Will it improve handling?

Yes!I just ordered mine on Ebay....with a chrome hub, spokes, nipples and rim, all triple chrome plated for $150 bucks! Main difference is the wheel bearing size. Sporties have 3/4 axle bearings, Dyna's have a 1" axle. Just swap the bearings and spacer. Just make sure you get the narrow hub. You will have less of a contact patch on the ground. Makes it handle Worse! But, it looks 10 timesbetter!

Sure is possible, and easy to do. I just did the same thing last week.
I have cast wheels on my 2003 Dyna and I decided to put a laced 21 inch on the front end. This wheel uses the same two axle spacers and axle (3/4 inch diameter) as original cast wheel. An easy swap.
The 19 inch fender fits too, and has plenty of clearance with the 21 inch tire.
The only problem you may have is locating a wheel. Most 21 inch wheels were put on Dynas with the wideglide front end. That hub is approx 6 1/2 inches wide. A narrowglide front end requires a 4 1/2 inch hub.
Such is the case with my Lowrider. Twenty-one inch narrow hubs were put on Sportsters.
The 21 inch wheel I bought on Ebay came off a (2000 or newer) Sportster. The disc bolts right up to the hub. You can do the swap in about ten minutes assuming the wheel you buy is trued up. A bit longer if you must true it yourself.......pg

Newer Dyna's with the 41 mm tubes use the 1" diameter axles, the older 39mm bikes use the 3/4" dia. axles.

Older Dyna's will interchange with the Custom model Sporty 21 inch wheels, no sweat.

According to Buttman, it don't sound like it will work for you. My 2003 has the 39mm fork tubes and the 3/4 inch axle. Your machine looks to be a 2006 and if it has a one inch axle, forget the 21 inch wheel.
One positive though; is that it looks like you have 'smoothie' rims on your machine, and you will not be having to give up the front one for a 21.................pg

'06 and '07 Dyna's have 49mm forks. Same as the Vrod.
