If you search there has been some discussion of this over the past few months. someone had mocked up a locking box that bolted to the outside of the battery cover. looked like it had potential, and there was some discussion of a small production run.

As i'm sure you've figured out, the leather toolbox that was available on prior years won't work on an '06 or '07 without modification. not sure if anyone has successfully made that mod. Personally I've been looking for a small bag to bolt on in place of the battery cover trim. My web searches haven't located anything that fits my exact idea. I'm hoping that the couple of winter bike shows will produce something. I'm thinking a bag with the dimensions of a windshield bag and the styling of a fork bag. Best of luck with this one.... and I'm guessing you've ruled out the small bag on the front frame?

hey firefighter thanks for the response, yes I have a bag on the forks now but just dont like it there it just does not look clean enough, if you know what I mean. I have seen the leather toolbox that I think you are talking about. and it may be able to be modified for an 06. I have the teardrop shaped chrome toolbox made by HD on my softail and it is real clean looking. I havebeen looking for a while, just cant believe no one makes anything. but I will do a search here and see if i can find the post you spoke about . thanks again

thanks for the thread info, that is sort of what i had in mind but i would like to find something that would hug the bike a little more like in front of the shock. Have been trying to find a small metal box that is shaped right to fit into this space. I have a spare hd box (teardropshaped)from my softail and I even held it there ( trial fit)to see if it could be adapted but its just not shaped right., the dynas shock just interferes

There just isnt enough room anywhere to put one on.I am going to look at changing my seat a bit and trying to make a compartment inside the padding to hold the tools.
