Oh right. I remember people saying the strut covers didnt come in chrome. That sucks. Kinda weird too since it seems like HD offeres everything in chrome. I'll keep my eye out for a set for you.

Thanks man. I think it's because the WG has never come with chrome ones. All the color schemes they've come out with always have them in black. I might mock up some electrical tape on mine to see if I can stand the look of the black on silver. I just don't think it'll look right.

Beautiful bike, how does it change or affect the feel of the ride with it lowered like that? With the stock suspension mine feels like it bottoms out sometimes on really rough road. Does your suspension handle it better with I am assuming stiffer and better quality suspension or???? Just one of those things I have been curious about on lowered bikes.

And even that is next to impossible because whoever wanted to do a swap would just do it with one of the million guys on here that already has a black Fat Bob. I just gotta get to a point where I can just pull the trigger and not look back. Kinda like dropping around 8 bills to swap out my bars last year, and that was doing all the labor myself.
The WG strut covers are the same as the chrome struts that came on the '06 and later Super Glide Custom and Low Rider along with the '06 Street Bob. Just FYI since you could probably find some take offs cheaper then chroming the black wide glide strut covers.

I dont know if I would consider the Burlys to be a "better" shock than the stock Fat Bob pieces. They are just stiffer to avoid bottoming out at an inch and a half shorter length. Im going to wait to give an honest opinion on the ride until I install my Progresive lowering springs in the front since lowering just the rear has effectlively given the front more rake. I lowered it mostly for looks. And I might end up going with different shocks when I get some 18" wheels. The Burlys are pretty inexpensive so this is kind of a rolling experiment. In the end Im hoping for a nice compromise between looks and performance. If you want a lowered look AND better performance then I would look into a quality shock from say Ricor or Ohlins and have them set up for your weight and riding style. Thats my plan once I get the looks the way I want.

Really!? I thought of that but I thought they wouldn't work because of the WG and FB having fatter rear ends. Do you know how I could find a part number for them? I might pull the trigger on this mod before summer if this is true!

I called my local dealer and got the part numbers. Turns out they are actually cheaper than the wide glide black ones haha. Chrome gets no love anymore. Can anyone confirm absolutely that they will fit?
