Dealer just delivered my new switchback and went over all the details of the functioning of the bike with me in my garage including demonstrating the removable windshield. After he left I got to wondering what the heck holds the thing on, so I grasped it at the top of the shield and pulled forward. It came off with no effort whatsoever! I reattached it several times and there is no way I can make it any more secure. What keeps it from comming off when riding? When parked what keeps it from blowing off in a stiff wind? Those springy dodads are completely innefective as restraining devices. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

It has been an effective mounting point for years. If you really think that the wind could blow it off your parked bike then you either have it on wrong or something is defective. My guess is that your not using the spriny dudads as you call them correctly.
First welcome to the club. Second I have had no problem with mine since I got her. If you want take and bend the spring clips down a little but really not needed
You can buy locks for them from the dealer to stop theft, that would also work to make it more secure if you are worried about it.
Harley do not make a lock for these windscreens. If you know of an aftermarket company that makes one I, and possibly other Switchback owners, would be interested to know?

Thanks for the welcome. The springy do dads on my shield do appear to fully engage but when I pull forward on the top of the shield they just cam over the rubber mount and release the shield. I could be wrong but this just seems too flimsy to be correct.
