Guess the right side cap will be no prob but just thinking about the left one which contains the needle gauge. The 2012 SB has the trip info on the speedo which gives me fuel range so I dont need the needle gauge on the cap (Cant think why they used the cap with that it but hey ho) but unsure as to what I will find when I unscrew the left had cap.
i do not see the gauge, for 59 bucks there is no way that it is the gas cap and fuel gauge... i think it looks stupid when they do not match, you can not simply put a fuel cap on the gas gauge set up the mount is different
Ah, think you have misread me guys. The gas cap with the gauge that I am refering to is the OEM that is on the bike currently. The question IM asking is, is it possible to replace the OEM cap containing the gauge with the cap shown in the ad?

No, but if Joker sells a dummy one for the left side like RSD does then yes. With my RSD dummy cap I just put the circuit board from the stock cap under the dummy cap so the fuel remaining function still works.

Good to know. I ordered my RSD cap and dummy cap. I was wondering the same thing. So is there a bolt or nut that will hold the wires on the dummy cap?

No, you need to cut the stock cap up to get at the circuit board. I then took the circuit board and placed it on a piece of cork tape in the empty space under the dummy cap then placed another piece on top of the circuit board. The dummy cap fits perfectly with the board underneath it and everything is safe and secure. 30 minute job and it looks and works great. I cut the board out of the stock cap with a pair of dykes because it is pressed together from the factory.
Thanks again TG82.
Phat, can you let me know how you get on fitting your new ones please? Ive just been looking at the RSD Vintage Black Ops and they look great to go with my Black Denim paint so think Ill be getting those

Ok, I got one question. Why would I want to put the circuit board on the dummy cap? Is that so the light on the speedo will continue to work?
