The Zodiac rack and backrest can be found at www.zodiac.nl
I couldn't get the onlinecatalogue to open but there is some info on the rack in the New Products,October 2006 section, its part number 731637, looks like a good bit of kit, couldn't find a price though.
Seems that the back rest/luggage rack is made by Fehling, a German company. Two Wheel Touring http://www.twtouring.com/in MN is apparently the sole importer in the US. I just received an email from them saying they don't stock this item, but promised to get meprice and availability when they are ready to place a new orderwith Fehling (4-6 weeks). The new FXDC won't be here til March, so no hurry. If this turns out tonot be super expensive, it'll make for some solo seat/backrest options other than Corbin and the huge Mustang.
I just got the Backrest/rack from Two wheel touring. It takes5 to 10 minutes to put it on and is very comfortable. I love it. I no longer have to hold my self up against the wind at 75 to 80 mph on thefreeway. Call or e-mail Ian at Two wheel touringhttp://www.twtouring.com. $196. plus $31 shipping. The pad comes with it and already installed. You just bolt it on. You can cruise more miles per day with much stress. I am now switching betweensolo seat and backrestand the sundowner seat when the wife want to come along. I am done with switching from one seat and backrest to the other in less than 10 minutes. I did have to buy two 2 and 3/4" bolts because it came with 2 and 1/2" bolts which were to short and only turned in 2 or 3 turns. I did not feel that was enough and so bought longer bolts. I also bought harleys special nut and retainer so that changing between the two seats was faster and does not require reaching under the fender to bolt up the rear of the rack. I will try to take picks of the rack on my bike tonight and post them tomorrow. The pic at the beginning of this thread does not give a good representation of how it looks on the bike.
Sorry no offense intended. What I meant was that picture along does not give a good idea of how the Backrest looks on the bike overall. Proportions and different angles etc... I have tired to add 4 pictures to this post. I have not added any pics to a post before so I hope that it works. If it does not work then I will try once more. Your picture was enough inspiration for me to buy the backrest in the first place. I believe that there was a second pic included in a prior post. Thanks for turning me on to the Backrest in the first place.
