Default 2002 fxdx

HI,

Just baught a stock 2002 FXDX. Got a few questions: 1) I want drag bars (flat black powder coat or gloss). Any brand suggestions? Internal wiring yes/no? Risers or T-Bar?

2) I want a 2 into 1 exhaust (you guessed it black). I have done my research and there seems to be a bunch of good brands out there (thunder header, Bassani etc.) My question is: do they work with forward controls? All the pics i have seen show bikes with mid controls and the pipe looks like it gets in the way of the forward control mount.... your thoughts?

I have some more questions but i will save them so i don't overwhelm!!

Hey There,

I just picked up a 2000 FXDX myself, I'm thinking of putting some of the MX T-bars from West Coast T-Bars, I would definitely internally wire them.

For the pipe one of the most popular ones for these bikes is probably the Thunderheader 2:1, I opted for the D&D Fat Cat because I've always had good experience with them and I like the quiet baffle option. Those two pipes will work with either forward or mid controls.

If you have any questions give us a ring at the shop!

Thanks Doc,

I like the look of those T-Bars. I am considering getting a 1/4 fairing, either the ness or HD, do you think it would fit with those bars? Also is there any way to mount the spedo so that its not right in your face on top of the bars??? I think i may go with the Thunderheader cause the price and look is right. The performance is there as well but i have read some threads that say they loose there black after awhile.....

Hey man Check out the Rifle Roadster Fairing there alittle wider and they have a few different windsheild options so you can have the bubble just for cruising town and kicking @$$ and then they have the taller 13in i think to throw on for the long trips so the wind aint kickin your @$$ lol http://rifle.com/Roadster%20Fairing-P1955.aspx

You should be able to run a fairing with the t bars. The height you get might affect how and where you mount the fairing though as the taller bars will be closer to the windshield.

I'll triple the rifle fairing, they've been growing on me.. I think when I order my fairing up I'm gonna go with the Roadster with the bubble shield. I just went down on saturday on the fwy, I will post a nice thread when she gets fixed up again =)

Buying the FXDX was one of the best moves, I don't think I'll ever get rid of this one! Such a fun bike

I have P/N WO511 CHUBBY® DRAGSTER BAR in black, new never used. I put them on the risers and clamp so I could sell them all. I only have the bar left.

PM me if interested.
