Well you guys were right..Took about a hour. Only snag was when I lowered her I could not get the lift out....LOL...I had to take 2 2X4 and raise the back tire to get the jack out. Then I rolled her off the 2X4..Lowering the bike a 1" makes more of a differance then I thought. Thanks for the info all....

Looks way better. congrats!
lowering 1" makes it easier to mount, looks bobbed, travel on the shock is stiffer. it also reduced your lean in corners.
I want progressive 970's but they only come in 12.5" which is a raise of .5". I want to raise for cornering and lean, but I want to lower to mount it easier and not have to lift the old leg so much.

For some reason, this forum will not let me view images as attachments like that. Did you go with chrome or black springs?

YNOTS, you are my guru. I am still looking at those 970's. I was gonna PM you about the front end and how to even the bike. all those Progressive front ends seem to lower. I think I have learned that the PVC inside will adjust the height. I am hoping to cut some metal to do the same job. but instead of cutting the pvc down just keep the same height, and use the metal piece that gets removed to cut-to-match the pvc piece. am I thinking right...?

(dont mean to hijack the thread, but you did get the shocks on already)

Some feed back on the shocks. just took the bike out for a ride and you are right lowering by one inch does reduce the amount of lean, the bike moves and handles much eaiser. The ride is smooth and you really dont feel the bumps unless you hit and good size on.

P.S. I put on black progressive 412 11" Trained.....
