O.k. My wife has a Heritage. It looks like the shifter shaft off of her Heritage will fit on the fld. The heritage comes with the heel-toe shifter. (double splines.) Don't know the cost of the shifter shaft, but sure looks like it will work.
Well maybe not. Reason why is the flstc has a double spline where the forward and rear shifters are independently installed so minor adjustments can be made vs a single shifter

It's been mostly non-interchangeable with other models because the teeth on the spline are different.
Ok take it easy on me, so far heres a very, very rough cut design haha (i threw it together in five mins)....
I have to confirm the length of the floor board, the offset of primary so the shifter wont hit it or get in the way of foot room, the splines and how much protrudes from the primary...so this can change but dont forget this has to be machinable so most likely it will be a little boxy...
any and all ideas are welcome..........

What about making one using a Softail shifter lever (see image 1)?
You'll have to do some measurements first, to find out if this splined rod will fit in the FLD's left front bracket.
If there's a match you could cut the weld (A), take the splined rod from he lever (B), copy the FLD lever and re-weld. The Softail splined rod (C) will accept heel/toe shifter levers for sure!
Another option could be the use of an FLH splined rod (see image 2); not sure on the measurements of this piece, though....
You might check with Wyatt's floorboards. They make a set for dyna conversions from pegs to boards. Their boards match the SB set-up and come with a heal toe shifter. I asked em if the spline would accept an OEM toe only and they say yes. Seems like it would work the other way as well... Here's a link to their kit at Debrix.
