Post broke last night on my NAPA ES20L-B. Rigged it snug and got home. Seems it was too tall and damm near touched the frame. Anyways. HD Battery is 130, Autozone is 85. Walmart. is 76 but post opposite. Saw PC545 on line with 2 year warranty for 137. What's everyone using? I'm thinking go cheap cause they will all last the same'u
I'm still runnin my stock HD batt. from 2005. I betta replace it this year before my bike leaves me on the side of the road!
I'll replace it with another HD since I had such good luck on this one
Batteries imo are the type off components that you just have to be lucky with. There is however an easy method to make luck swing your way. A battery tender! My 1990 Sporty ate batteries. My previous bike, a Dyna convertible still had it's original battery after 10 years but was always on a tender when not used for more than say, 2 weeks. My Electra gets the same treatment and the battery still feels as good as when I bought the bike new in 2007.
Provision here is however the quality of your voltage regulator as it's easy to cook the battery when the charge is even just a little too high.
Scared is right. Battery tender is key. I know a lot of guys that still have the original. Good investment. I do know however that my brother is running a autozone with no problems. Some batteries are made by the same company, then they just slap they're logo on it.
Delivery was like 1 day. I ordered on a friday and had it by saturday. I have one of the big cranks on the sportster. Think it was like 75 bucks for my bike. Better then spending the cash on the harley battery.
If you have a Advance Auto Parts store close by you can pick up a Deka hiding under the name Magna Power for $68.99 (includes a $6.00 core charge) using promo code "VISA"

I'm with you on that one. Can't see Harley making batteries. It wouldn't surprise me if they buy "this year's bargain" and, indeed, a sticker doubles the price.
