To be honest, I am not sure of the make up of the remaining pipe (header) still on the bike. We only removed the cans. Is there a cat forward of the cans?
The bike is not real loud but it sounds like a Harley now. It sounded like a metric cruiser before.
A cat would make sense.
Also, is the decel pop an indicator of lean or rich conditions?
The pop has to be from a lean condition, most people have solved it by adding fuel to the appropriate part of the fuel curve. This is from reading here and not from experience so take it for what it's worth which isn't much!
I also agree with the video request, I have never heard a Harley running through the cat alone and am interested in how it sounds.
The cat is in the conjoined section of the head pipe ... seen a couple of threads on here where guys cut them open and remove it ... I think it looks okay but might look better if the end were more symetrical ... looks a little unfinished (which is to be expected, I suppose) ...
A couple of guys have cut the head pipe off and welded on a 4" straight extension ... a couple of variations on that theme that look okay ...
Glad you do not live next to me. Just in case your neighbor is like me, better keep your eye on it if you want to keep it? I like quite and calm in the morning...cain't you tell?

Thanks a lot everyone. I will try to get a vid today. Like I said before, she is still not loud. Almost sounds perfect as it is. Those are some monster cats in there I guess.
Popping is usually from a lean condition. But I've also read several places that the first place to check if you're getting decel pop is the tightness of your muffler clamps because air leaks will also cause it. Seeing as you no longer have any mufflers at all.... That's probably the cause.
If you were trying to be helpful, then I apoligize for my response.
If anyone here is jumping on with attitude its you. "this thread is useless without pics" is a line used by many. keep up the good work killa. you sure killed it for me. I'll just leave you alone from now on. C ya
Lean conditions will cause decel popping. Since you don't have any slip joints to worry about, check the nuts on the exhaust flanges. They have been known to loosen up. You still may need to add fuel in certain areas to make it go away.
