So on my way back from Daytona I had an unfortunate accident that caused some damage to the rear fender, exhaust and a few other parts.
I have been wanting to change quite a few things on her anyway so during the week in between the accident and when I recieved the insurance check I planned it out.
This will probably take me a few months to finish but I will post update picks along the way.
Changes done so far:
1. Wrinkle Black Heads, Tranny Cover, Oil Cover, Battery Cover (x2), Timing Cover, Primary, etc.
2. New SE 204 Cams / Carb re-jet / Drop in front springs / Rear Shocks
3. Gloss Black: Tank Console, Axle Covers, etc.
4. Satin Black: AC Cover
5. Chopped off: fender struts, Seat tabs
6. Welded new seat tabs for spring seat (no springs...I have shocks)
7. Drilled/tapped swing-arm for new rear fender (swap meet find!)
8. Chopped/Painted/Wrapped exhaust
To Do:
1. Make new fender struts (from Swingarm to fender)
2. Paint tins satin black
3. Tear down front end and black out
4. I am sure I will think of more
Bent, cut, fabbed brackets for and welded together the new fender struts last night ... she looks like a rat rod right now but should look incredible when I am done with her.
Working on smoothing out the fender tonight and will post pics when complete-
Yes - I was trailering the bike back from Daytona ... was with a group of 8 bikes and I lost the battle of "why are we trailering the bikes there?" -
In all these years that was the first (and hopefully last) time that my bike was on a trailer (other than a beakdown) - defeats the purpose in my opinion -
Good work on bobbing the Super Glide ... you have any further information (photo) on how you relocated your speedo ...? to the downtube on the left side ...? what kind of bracket are you using ...?
