LOL - I.E.D does not go over too well with most people I know! Let alone Extreme.

Quite afew people seem to swear by them, but I think they are very expensive for what they are..... basically a piece of wire, some plugs and a resistor.

I don't believe you can get them in a shop. Have to get them from NightRider.

You can order them online, as stated you likely won't find any shops that carry them. I would also not waste the money, time, or effort in even trying to get a shop to get them and install them for you. If you want them, order them and plug them inline to your wiring. It's that simple and paying someone else to do that for you is a needless waste of money.

They trick your FI system into thinking its getting a false reading so that your air fuel ratio is adjusted to run richer than the stock programming would. So many would consider them not a good solution for the money but sometimes a band aid fix works till you can afford a high quality tuner. Thats a choice your going to have to make, but I would suggest reading a lot about the subject so you can make up your own mind without all of the opinions of others.

You may also want to make certain if they fit a 2012. The electrical system on those bikes is different from the previous years.

@ art In a word .....No!

@TMO Look up nightrider.com on google and Steve, mr. nightrider has all the info posted on his site. you will come to a page describing the differend ied xied and vieds for your year / model bike. You could also join his forum and get your info straight from the man who designed them for HD bikes. He will tell you himself they are a quick cheap and dirty fix to the epa regs HD have no choice but to comply to. It is what it is. As others have stated save some money by waiting for a real tuning device that will allow adjustments to be made further on down the road!
