this one is mainly directed to someone in canada I just bought this bike lift on sale for $89 http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows....jsp?locale=en but I haven't tried it yet... My question is does anyone have this lift & do I need to modify it? or will it work with out modifying it?
You will need a set of jacking blocks from H.D or make a set so your not jacking on the oil pan on the bottom of the motor. Also it looks like it has a u shaped tie down point on the front like mine did. The u shaped part will hit on your kickstand spring when you push it in under the bike. I cut it off in the middle so I can still use it to put on a tie down to hold the bike in place when working on it. Thats about what I paid for mine on sale. Its a good jack
I got the same lift on sale at CT and was wondering the same thing it's still in the box since last october LOL good info. I might have to try the mod or get the block..
Thanks you guys. Excellent mod on the lift. It works like a charm. One issue that may apply to my bike only. My clutch cable runs under the corner of the engine case (see pic) It gets pinched slightly by the forward lift bar unless pulled to the side . Easy to remedy with a temporary tie back but thought I'd mention it none the less.
