I feel your pain.
I hate saying it, but unfortunately it's something we have to put up with from time to time. Over the years I've had 3 motorbikes stolen and on one occasion when I returned to my bike after leaving her in a park I found the fuel hose had been pulled off and motion lotion was dripping out of my fuel tap onto the engine and the ground.

get forensics, find out who it is, take his bell, and let the pavement do the rest.

+1 to what bsljaques said "some people are alive just because it is illegal to kill them"

As bad as I hate to say it, I agree with the fact that it was somebody that knew what it was. Especially since that was the only part taken. What comes around goes around. He'll get his.

Sorry to hear about that..Karma will get him. Maybe he'll wire it wrong and his bike will burst into flames, burning him as well.

I have read if you throw an old semi-dirty bike cover over the bike thieves may be less likely to peek underneath it. Something to think about. Sadly, I think we'll see a lot of bikes stolen now that gas prices are outrageous.

On the bright side, that empty hole is just as accurate as the gauge the **** took..
