#1 Rule: Spend more time riding than talking about it.
Start looking in all the usual places for ideas:
Harley Accessories manual. Ask dealer for take home copy
JP Cycles & Dennis Kirk: Have them send you a parts manual
Look in the HDforums "for sale" section.
Check out Ebay & Craigslist
Check out forum picture posts, ebay bikes for sale etc. Your looking for ideas on what you think you like or the type of riding your looking to do. As questions.
Narrow down items that you think you like and consult with other members here on the forum.
Know your budget. Make sure to account for the back end expense. There's a cause and effect for any engine mod you make. Make sure whatever you do you don't cheat yourself by doing a half a$$ engine mod without proper remapping etc.

Thanks for all the help so far! before i took the bike home, the dealer talked me into just putting slip on mufflers instead of a complete system. (bad idea i think) She will come alive but still just don't have the TRUE Harley sound. Bought the bike at Thunder Harley in Sharon PA. Hate to sound to dumb but i cant find a option to add a picture anywhere. as soon as i can figure it out i will add a picture.

Hope you don't mind taking advice from another "Newb". But upload your pics to a photo sharing website like Photobucket. Then just follow the directions from their site. This works real well for me.
Good luck with your scoot and like others here i would like to see pics, and i went with pipes a tuner and new breather first as did most people it will make a noticable difference in power and it will sound more like a real Harley then if that isnt enough power for you drop some cams and hi comp pistons in it, and if that still doesnt work do the head work
