I am ready to change my air filter on my bike and noticed on the back plate there is a quick disconnect that goes to a sensor. The new Stage One air box has no provision for the sensor. WTF.... Has anyone else seen this... Please inform!
According to instructions with the stage one filter, that connector is no longer utilized and a clip should be included with the new filter to place it up and out of the way.
That's not usually connected to anything on domestic (US) models. You sure its connected up?
On non-US models it drives a little flappy paddle in the front of the air intake that reduces intake noise to meet a draconian standard in some backwater country (probably mine).
There was a connector connected to the rear of my stock air box. It's not utilized with my stage 1 air cleaner.
Umm. Might be just a dummy connector on the stock A/C to hold the connector - unless they started fitting the active air intake to US models now. If they have, then it needs an eliminator plug when the stock A/C is removed otherwise the ECU throws codes.
On the rear of the plastic breather plate there is a holder that it locks into. Per my dealer they told me that the stage 1 kit should have come with a new clip and a plug cover. The clip is pretty much worthless, so use a zip tie and the cover is free from the dealer but have to ask for it
Ok, the wire just went into a terminating cap on the back of the stock air cleaner housing. I removed the cap, placed it back on the wire and zip locked it up and out of the way. I have no idea what the purpose of this wire is for. At first I thought it was a sensor, not a cap.

See post #3, they use the same harness in domestic and export bikes. The terminal is for export bikes.
