I can't seem to pull the trigger on a seat decision for my WG. I know the stock POS has to go. I'm 6'3, 225 and I already have 2" fwd extensions on there, but my *** seems to ride in the seam between the front and rear Pillon.
I 've done a crap load of research, but I'm stuck.
HD Tallboy, LaPera Maverick Daddy Long Legs, Barebones w/pillon, C&C Fastback w/backrest)
I know that's a wide variety. I don't really ride passenger, but I do ride with a sissy bar with Luggage rack (which would look retarded with just a solo)
I like the low sitting back (chopper) style/flow of seats, but at the same time my back and *** can't take another 3 hr one way ride on stock. I've also thought that having a removable backrest would give me the best of both worlds. Around town and long distance, but I can't just pick one and go, finances don't allow me do bounce around.
Any help would be appreicated and yes I've searched many times and read them all. Just gathering more intel before squeezing the trigger and buying. Thanks
Call chuck @ c&c, tell him exactly what you want. Give him a credit card and never ever ever look back! My square back was completely custom through them, wider, farther back, gel. I love it. FYI I've been through 8 seats before I was happy.
I was going to start a thread about an e-mail I just got from my local dealer. Seems that they are starting up a seat demo program of some sort? I figured that I would wait till next time there to ask, but, it would be cool if I had a way to demo a bunch of different seats ON MY BIKE! I'll be at my dealer some time before summer kicks in to full swing to ask but it might be worth your while to ask your dealer if they have that type of program. I like my setup now - 09 RK, Sundowner, Heritage style bars - but I can't help but wonder if there is better!
All I know is am going to get a C&C fastback with the drivers backrest for my Dyna. We have a few other bikes with C&C's on them here at the shop and they are always very comfortable.
c&c fastback without the backrest will keep you in the seat fine....it has quite a bit of back support as does the mustang fastback...the backrest would be overkill for me...
Best money I ever spent was on my Mustang vintage wide with a backrest. I too was on the fence about it especially considering the cost. After my first ride I remember thinking I would have paid double had I known it was so good.

+1 on the vintage wide. You can also order them where you modify the rider position forward or back farther. I would find someone who had one and sit on it. Youll like it.
Thanks for the helpful advice, hopefully some people with the other seats in my group will chime in. * Silver that would be pretty cool to be able to demo other seats on our own bike.
I've been trying to find other riders around here (or at the dealership) that has different seats on it so I can see how I like them or fit in them.
I have never run a seat with a drivers backrest but I can't see how it would affect my comfort in any sort of negative way. I live local to C&C so I plan on heading down there on Saturday morning to test out the fastback with the drivers backrest along with the regular fastback. I'll report back on this subject on Monday.
