You don't need a kit. I'm running all my stock cables on a 02 Fxdxt with 10" riser/bar combo. Fxdx has even more room to play with. Look up Shiftface on here. He has done many posts about this.

My FXDXT came with 10" mini apes on it and all stock cables although the front brake line was bent to allow the front brake line to fit. I put 13" LA Choppers high club bars and was unable to get the stock brake line to work. The clutch cable was really really tight. It seems as though the throttle and idle would have worked but I got new ones as the idle cable was toasted when I bought the bike and I wanted it all to match. I got +4" idle and throttle which are a bit too long b ut work fine. I got a kit for the front brakes from Drag Specialties which was the very last one they had in stock. It was supposedly for stock bars but I made it work with these bars by bending the metal fitting for the upper brake line from the T and it fits just fine. This was a steel braided kit and it appeared in the fatbook as lower lines only but was actually everything needed. They might still have some black vinyl in stock, I have no idea. a 21" front upper brake line will work perfectly and stock length lower lines. I had to b uy stuff without really knowing what I needed for this as well as there is a limited amount of knowledge and info available for this bike. I am glad it all worked out well.

I just got a Motion Pro Blackout clutch cable, it is cool since the end fittings are black. I got the +4 one, and I really only needed stock I realized after I got it. Some creative routing made it look clean though, so no worries.

I forgot to say that I used a +4" clutch cable which would have been fine +2" as well with the 13" bars. I am not sure of the width of your bars (the guy with 14" apes) but my LA Choppers bars are relatively narrow at about 30" or so which should be taken into consideration as well. As far as the wiring for the switch housings there is tons inside the frame so no need to worry about that.

I've got an 02 and Ran 8 Inch risers on Sportster 48 bars. I currently run WCTB 12" and all I needed was the brake lines.

I think I want to do 6" or 8" risers and nightster bars on my 2000 fxdx. What did you guys do about break lines? I can't find an extended kit for dx's anywhere.

You dont need a kit for the brake line for either 6" or 8".

I have 8" risers on my bike and used both drag bar and finally decided on Biltwell Tracker bars (similar to Nightster bars). Stock cable and lines for everything.

Drag Bars (pulling controls off to change bars)

---

Biltwell Trackers

Had to change the curve on the metal part of the brake line coming off the MC.

The only issue I have is the cable for the tac/speedo rubs on the neck of the frame when the front end is turned all the way to the left.
