Dropped the wide glide off at my favorite Indy yesterday. Ordered the S&S cam and gear drive kit. I selected the 510 cams to play it safe. They seem to get really good reviews in 88" applications.

I thought I read somewhere that the 583 may work, but i've heard conflicting information about the maximum lift the stock springs can handle in an 88".

 

How'd these work out for you?

 

I just installed the S and S 510s in 06 RKC along with the Hydraulic cam chain tensioner kit. I chose to stay with the chain drive. Am very happy. nice throaty idle, Noticable difference in power, runs about 5 to 10 degrees cooler

 

I had the S & S 510G cams with gear drive installed in March of 2010 with 17,000 miles. Had the indy dyno tune it when done. It now has 27,895 miles on it. The rideability was much improved in all areas. About have the time I ride two up. Everyone has there own opinions on cams, you can read forever and not know for sure what is best. I am happy with them and think you will like them. It certainly will beat the stock cam.
