Late September through November in Texas. Lots of counties and cities/towns to cover here. Renaissance Festival goes on for at least six weekends in the Houston area.

We often have small ride/ oddities fairs set up in shopping mall parking lots around the city, but haven't seen one lately. A Ferris wheel, is normally a big part of them.

We used to have Astro World across the street from the Astro Dome, but the area is now just an empty field and no one knows what to do with Astro World. Really sad for us long time residents of the area...

Snow usually comes in late Nov, but freezing occurs earlier. I think its more that we have this huge Pumpkin Show in Oct......last year brought in over 400k people to our little town of 13k people over a 5 day stretch. That show is tied into harvest time....been doing it since the 1800's sometime.

If you get a turn in Oct., don't ask for your Dyna in front of a Pumpkin Show... Not many pumpkins in SE Texas, except at the grocery stores and church parking lots...rp
