Had to run an errand at work today, took an extra couple minutes to stop by the Two Cent Bridge at Head of Falls in Waterville, Maine. Couldn't ask for a nicer day--I LOVE getting paid to ride. :-)
I've not kept up with the thread, so not sure what's been done recently. How about a pic next to one of those old-timey hand water pumps they have at some rest stops? I know we have some in Maine.
PS For anyone who cares, the bridge was originally put up in 1901, I believe this is the rebuilt version, done in 1902. Refurbed in the 60's, almost came down in 1990 due to way too many partiers jumping around on it during the 4th of July celebration that year. It really is a cool old pedestrian suspension bridge. Across the Kennebec is where the mill that many on the Waterville side worked at (Winslow is on the other side).
Thanks, just a quick (I was impeding traffic a bit, standing in the road) documentation pic with the iPhone, some day I'll take one that's actually composed and properly exposed. ;-) It is a beautiful spot, but then, we do have a few in Maine.
