One question: Who is doing the "approving?" I've only seen it where it's on the honor of the person who posts up the photo. The best days can see a BUNCH of updates, all at once.
Looks like we don't have 100% certain the challenge has been met. We have 1700's building and 1900's bridge, but no solid 1800's picture yet. The pics are awesome, though!

My understanding, which could be a misunderstanding of how they are doing it in the Sporty forum is the person that issues the challenge also approves the winning photo.
