I am in the middle of replacing my lower fork legs and have hit a road bump. Does anyone know the Allen size for the plugs in the bottom of the lowers? It's a pretty big Allen and I don't have one. : (
its a 12mm, all fork parts are metric except for the fender mounting bolts and the triple tree topnut..as there made by showa...youll probally need an impact to get them out unless you loosen it while the forks are still in the trees...... turning it by hand just spins the internals of the fork..
Not for this one - you need a 12mm allen socket and it needs to be a long one to reach up past the axle hole - impact wrench is highly recommended as is a fork seal driver and an 35mm socket for the top cap.

You beat me to it I just got done doing mine and the impact is highly recommended

Also if you leave the forks intact then a simple Allen wrench will be fine. The spring etc will keep enough pressure on the damper rod so it doesn't spin
