FYI - The True-Track can be installed with the canister, a slight modification to the canister bracket and the vacum hose will be necessary. Questions, give tech a call at 818-445-6204. Ride safe.

True-Track, Sputhe, and Alloy Art are all based out of the California. I would be a little surprised if all of them didn't accommodate the can, in one way or another.

I'm probably going to install one of these bracing systems in the next couple weeks. I don't have anything against the enviroment or the can. I was considering just getting rid of it, however, it might be easier to move it rather then to remove it. And avoid possible conflicts in the future. I'ts bad enough I'm smuggling incandescent light bulbs in from Nevada.

I haven't installed a True Track yet, but I ditched mine following WS6 Formula's thread. Very easy to do. I have a Cali emission bike, but I live in Minnesota. I took it off because it looks goofy.

well the 2012 doesnt really have a "can" per say. its a rectangular box. it looks cleaner than the canister, but still pointless. but if i can install a true track without removing it, id rather do that. guess ill have to give them a a call.

Ok, despite what is already posted here it is possible to install the True Track with the California Canister installed with NO modifications or big ordeal. All it takes is supplying one longer allen bolt. The vacuam lines will reach with no problem.
How do I know this you may ask? Because I did it.
Here is the only problem you will have...It looks ugly as hell with that big useless POS canister hanging out there, BUT is does fit and work perfectly fine.

Default Mystery Sensor

So I figured I'd piggy back on this thread since I haven't received an answer on my thread. I also have a 2012 FXDB and I began removing the canister, the hoses and then I hit some kind of sensor thing right behind the coil pack. It has (2) hoses running to it. One is from the air cleaner/throttle body, and the other is to the canister.

Can I simply remove the hoses and leave this sensor thing, open to the atmosphere or do I cap both sides of it, or one side????

According to Ronnie's parts fische, the 'sensor thing' you refer to appears to be the purge valve solenoid - it controls the flow of the gas fumes depending on motor operation. If it were me, I would cap off both nipples just to keep crud from entering the valve, but leave the ECM plug connected - disconnecting it might throw a diagnostic code. Hope that helps.
