Well, I do tend to compare the braking to the sport bikes I used to ride, mind you that was sport bikes from 20 years ago, I'm sure the ones today are much better but even then they were using dual 4 pot calipers on 320mm rotors and two fingers was all that's needed. I wanted that with my Harley, call it a cruiser if you will but I still like to ride twisty roads even though I don't ride them fast enough to do any hard braking I still want and expect powerful brakes if/when I panic stop is needed. With the dual OEM FB brakes I have that do use them from time to time - like the mountain lion encounter last summer, where it not for those brakes I'd have probably hit more than its tail.
I changed to Harrison Billet calipers. It's a British company that supplies a lot of brakes to the custom world over here as well as being involved in bike racing. I went with a six pot up front and a four pot on the rear. Didn't change the disks/rotors as I didn't need to. My Street Bob now stops the way it should.
The Harrison calipers are nice, but I'm guessing as is the case with most custom calipers, you're stuck using their brake pads. That's why I went with run-of-the-mill Japanese sport bike calipers; proven, work great, parts availability, brake pads are cheap and you can get 'em just about anywhere...
Can you find a Fat Bob to test ride and see how the brakes perform?
I have not ridden a single disk enough to know how much stopping power/fade resistance they have, but I would personally like MORE power from my DUAL setup. I know, I know, it's not a sport bike, but I would like the assurance the power is there if/when I need it. Two up it is quite noticeable.
Rhino can you post up what you did or do you have a thread on it? I know FabKevin makes some stuff for using sport bike stuff on choppers. I'm interested in seeing what you used and fabbed up.
I'd like to do dual brakes also usin fxdf lowers but I am a little confused on which calipers I am supposed to use. I am assuming I will need 08 and newer calipers and rotors

FabKevin's brackets didn't work with my rotors, they only work with pre 2007, 11.5 inch rotors (rotors changed to 11.75 in 2008). I ended up making my own, but essentially it's the same setup.
FYI - If anybody is interested in a set of Kevin's caliper brackets for 11.5 inch rotors - they've been powder coated black - email me if interested.
