Default Broken contact

Found broken/split bulb contact in front turn signal. Doubt I'll be able to replace just the piece. Looking for suggestions about replacing both front units with nicer looking pieces. TS mount from/below my aux lights. I think I want to stay with incandescent type, but open to suggestions?! Thanks

Problem solved by new aftermarket units from local Indy. Went though pile of used Harley signals. Everyone had the same split in the same place.

Two area Harley stores. Neither had the socket assemblies ($32ea) in stock and both would require 5 days to get. Don't know if the 'not on hand' is because they can't keep them stocked or because they would rather sell complete units. Did not ask that price. The aftermarket units I bought ($50 both) are exact duplicates of the OE, except for that split plastic piece.....different type of plastic.

It wouldn't surprise me if HD had a box full of takeoffs sitting somewhere in the back

Those look like 1157 dual filament. Bottom plate looks rather generic old school..i wonder if someone could just use the bottom plate of a generic one like this one from ebay..seems like it has the little leg and all:

I thought of a lot of different scenarios, but they all came down to having to making the wire connections inside the TS housing. Not impossible but very time-consuming. The bayonet-ends on the wires are held in place by the pressure from the bulb. Once the socket assembly is in place, there is very little room for even soldered connections. The new units come with a nice long wire-harness to connect to the multi-lock connectors which are somewhere in the frame. Haven't found them yet tho.... I'm considering soldering new wire to OE wire. SM sez to pull the connectors out....right? Tomorrow is another day.
